FDTI CamerQuants

«  Before being selected to join the two months training programme at FDTI-CamerQuants , my understanding of mathematics was purely theoretical. The high standards offered by the training institute in terms of location, computer science toolkit and supervisors, notably Mr Jean Jacques KAMDEM, helped me to learn how to apply mathematics in Finance and to improve considerably my level in English. I strongly recommend anyone who meets the requirements in mathematics to join FDTI-CamerQuants for a fantastic experience»

“The training programme CamerQuants provides an opportunity for us and our country Cameroon. We learn a lot in computer programming languages such as C++ and Python and how to use them in banking. We experience real life examples of application while being encouraged to continue with our studies at university. We thank the Most High for making this possible and Mr KAMDEM for his time and patience”

« This training programme is a great opportunity because it offers the possibility to find a job in the international market, to become a Quant. It builds the bridge between our theoretical knowledge in mathematics and jobs in the financial markets. The working environment at the training institute is welcoming, friendly and professional similar to Quants desk in real trading room. Everything was put in place for young and bright mathematicians to train in the best possible conditions for a job that will enable them to earn their living and compete at the international level and contribute to the development of their country »

« With the Training programme FDTI-CamerQuants, I have been chosen amongst the very first students to participate to a two months training in Quantitative Analytics in Cameroon. The programme aims at training young Cameroonians with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics to pursue a career as Quant in the financial industry. Being a Quant is like the dream job for a mathematician, because it enables him to apply in financial engineering pretty much all the skills he has been taught during his long studies in mathematics. Before this programme, I always thought mathematics could only lead to becoming a teacher. Also my level in English was quite basic and I had no computer programming skills in C++. Today I can speak English more confidently in my area of expertise, do some computer programming and I know what is financial engineering. It is a great opportunity for me to have been chosen to be part of this programme and I will do my very best to not spoil it. »
